Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
When you type a name or a date of birth into a search tool on this site, that input travels straight to the outside provider that runs the search. The provider processes it and returns results. We do not keep or log the terms you enter.
Messages and Contact Submissions
If you send us an email, we keep the message so we can write back. It stays with our team. We do not pass it to anyone outside our organization unless a legal obligation requires it.
Data We Gather Automatically
Each time a page here loads, our servers record a few technical details about the visit:
- The IP address your device is using
- The browser you are on, and its version
- Your device type and operating system
- Which pages you opened and how long each stayed on screen
- The site that referred you here, if there was one
- A timestamp for every page view
Cookies and Analytics
We use cookies, which are small files your device stores so we can see how the site is used, including which pages draw the most visits and where readers leave. Analytics services help us add that traffic up. You can block cookies in your browser settings whenever you like, though some parts of the site may behave differently afterward.
What We Do With This Data
- Keeping the site online and loading quickly
- Sending your search request to the right partner service
- Learning which pages help readers and which need another pass
- Finding and fixing technical problems
- Showing advertising that may match your interests
No Warrant Data on File
This site does not host, keep, compile, or sell databases of warrants or personal warrant-record information. We publish general guidance about where Iosco County warrant records are held and how to check them through the Sheriff's Office Control Center, the courts that issue process, and the public case systems. We are not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and nothing we collect about visitors is turned into a consumer report or a file about a third party.
Third-Party Search Partners
Search boxes here are run by outside companies. Whatever you type into one of those tools is handled under that partner's privacy policy rather than this one. Those partners set their own retention and sharing rules, and we do not control them. Read the partner's policy before you submit a search.
Links to Other Websites
We link to sheriff's office pages, court portals, state record systems, legal aid groups, and outside search tools. Following any of those links takes you off this site, and from that point the other site's privacy policy applies to your visit. Read it before you share personal details.
Some advertising partners track activity across sites in order to show targeted ads. That tracking runs on their systems, not ours.
Who Might See Your Data
We do not sell personal data. Some information may reach:
- Search partners that handle queries you run here
- Analytics services we use to measure traffic and performance
- Ad networks that place advertising on our pages
- Law enforcement or government bodies when a valid legal order requires it
How We Protect Your Data
We follow standard security practices to protect what we collect. Nothing connected to the internet is foolproof, though. We do what we can to keep your information safe, and we cannot promise that a breach will never happen.
Users Under 18
This site is built for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has sent us data, contact us and we will delete it promptly.
Your Data Rights
Michigan's open-records law, the Freedom of Information Act, 1976 PA 442, MCL 15.231 et seq., governs public access to records held by state and local government bodies. That law applies to government agencies, not to this private site. Even so, you can ask us to:
- Send you a copy of what we hold about you
- Correct information that is wrong
- Delete your data
- Stop certain kinds of processing
Updates to This Policy
This privacy policy may change later. When it does, the revised version appears on this page with a new effective date. Check back to see how we handle visitor information.
